Zim duo fire brace in Europe

Denmark based Quincy Antipas and Leyton Orient striker Macauley Bonne scored braces for their respective teams over the weekend.

Antipas who plays for Hobro IK in the Danish Superliga netted twice despite his team losing 3-2 away to Nordsjaelland on Sunday. The forward had last scored a league goal in October against the same team.

The 33-year-old scored his first goal in the  23rd minute which put his team in the lead. He scored his second goal in second half to reduce a two-goal deficit after going down 3-1 just after the hour mark.

In England Bonne struck a double which helped his team return back to winning ways against Sutton United.

The 22-year-old scored the opener in the seventh minute from the penalty spot before he bagged his second goal of the game in the 81st minute. The match ended 4-1 in favour of Orient.

Macauley Bonne received a standing ovation when he was substituted in the stoppage time.

Elsewhere, Belgium based Knowledge Musona played ninety minutes in KV Oostende’s 1-0 home loss to Mechelen. Another Zimbabwean in Belgium, Marvelous Nakamba was an unused substitute when Club Brugge beat  Lokeren  3 – 1 on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Tendayi Darikwa is still recovering from an ankle injury he picked a fortnight ago.

Costa Nhamoinesu will return to action in early January after the Czech First League went on on break last week.
