Shabanie Mine supporters have passed a vote of no confidence in the Elias Marufu led executive saying it has failed to run the club properly.
Shabanie Mine survived relegation by a whisker and the supporters believe the executive has failed to build the club brand and huge support base to attract meaningful sponsorship.
The supporters who met at Maglas Stadium on Tuesday resolved to fire Marufu along with his deputy Joseph Zimuto and secretary general Jonathan Ruhukwa.
The supporters also resolved to elevate young Maxwell Munyaradzi Nyashanu from being the treasurer to the chairman’s position until other members are co-opted.
Shabanie Mine spokesperson Weston Wesley confirmed this development but said this can only be ratified at the club’s AGM which is due later this month.
According to the Shabanie Mine constitution, the supporters have the power to fire the main executive.
