Mahachi not panicking after 10-game winless run

Golden Arrows winger Kudakwashe Mahachi says there is no need to panic after his team failed to win a match in their last ten outings in all competitions.

Arrows started the campaign promisingly but now find themselves on the wrong side of the table with 17 points from 14 games, having last won a match in September when Mahachi slotted a late penalty against Platinum Stars at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Abafana Bes’thende, who lost 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns in their last game, will face Maritzburg United this afternoon.

“It’s not about the luck… we collected some points along the way and even the league is not consistent,” said Mahachi in an interview with KickOff.com.

“We just have to regroup as a team. We are playing Maritzburg on Sunday and we need to win that one before the break.

“Against Sundowns we played well. We conceded what I can call a silly goal in a set-piece and that has been our story where we just concede silly goals. I feel we need to change that.

“What is missing is we need to convert our chances. We are still on the right track… there’s no cause for panic but we have to stay together and focus on our next game against Maritzburg as I’ve said.”

He adds: “We are still a good team, there’s no doubt about that. Golden Arrows is a good team and everyone when they play us they get worried. I promise you Arrows will be back soon.”
