FIFA to audit ZIFA books

FIFA will send a team to audit how ZIFA used funds from the Forward Programme in 2017.

According to The Chronicle, FIFA deputy secretary-general responsible for football Zvonimir Boban wrote to ZIFA and other football associations benefited from the programme, that the world football board will send its auditors, who will spend up to three days perusing the books while also interrogating the national organisations.

“In line with Article 16 of the Forward Regulations, the Fifa Development Committee, together with the Fifa Audit and Compliance Committee, have decided that all member associations, which have benefited from the Forward funding will be subject to a central review for the year 2017, and thereafter,” wrote Boban.

The FIFA Forward Programme was launched in 2016 and is aimed to improve the development of football across the globe so that the sport can reach its potential in every nation.
