Chapungu Player Dies

Chapungu goalkeeper Roy Mazingi has died. He was 31.

Details of his death are still sketchy with the club releasing a statement saying the Kwekwe born goalkeeper died on Wednesday evening in Harare after a short illness.

But reports on the social media claims that the player collapsed and died at Chegutu’s Suri Suri Air Force base where the players were undergoing military training.

Below is the statement from Chapungu.

It is with great sorrow that we as Chapungu FC is announcing the death of our first choice goalkeeper Roy Mazingi. Roy passed away last night ( 10/01/18), in Harare, after a short illness. Mourners are gathered at 537 Mbizo 3 Kwekwe. Burial will be in Kwekwe on Saturday 13/01/18. Burial times will be notified in due course.

Mazingi previously played for Shabanie Mine in the premiership.
