Highlanders promote juniors

Highlanders looks set to do away with holding trials this year as they seek to promote their juniors into the senior frey for the upcoming season.

The Bulawayo giants who will be under the watchful eye of legend Madinda Ndlovu will get the bulk of the players from the developmental sides, the Highlanders Under 18 as well as the Bosso 90 Division one side.

According to the Chronicle Highlanders will add 11 new players while eliminating some senior players from their current side.

Speaking to the Chronicle, Highlanders CEO Nhlanhla Dube said the developments is in line with their vision as they are bolstering their junior policy.

“They (technical team) have a process of player identification and assessment, which does not have trials. Remember you have a whole developmental side and the Under-18s. Any player coming through for assessment is looked at in a structured way,” said Highlanders chief executive officer Nhlanhla Dube.

The team will soon be starting their pre-season training ahead of the upcoming 2018 season.
