Shabanie Mine FC AGM postponed

Shabanie Mine executive failed to hold their annual general meeting after it was disrupted by rowdy supporters calling for the club leadership to resign.

The meeting was supposed to be held on Saturday, January, 27 at Runde Lodge. A section of supporters caused the meeting to be called off.

In an interview with the Herald, club secretary Jonathan Ruhukwa confirmed the development but said they postponed the indaba after the venue had become small.

“The AGM did not go ahead as scheduled because the venue we had booked was small but we now have to go back to the drawing board to set another date,” said Ruhukwa.

The current executive led by chairman Elias Marufu is under fire, and last month, the supporters passed a vote of no confidence in the board saying it has failed to run the club properly.
