The festering in-house fighting at Dynamos which has been simmering for some time has reached the boiling point with vice president Solomon Sanyamandwe threatening to quit the club.
The club’s executive has been sharply divided with the secretary general Webster Marechera and treasurer Moses Chikwariro now in control with the backing of the board chairman Bernard Marriot Lusengo.
A source within the club says the re-assigning of long-serving team manager Richard ‘Nyoka’ Chihoro is a result of the infighting contrary to the assertion that coach Lloyd Mutasa wants to select his technical team.
“The vice president has had enough of the goings on at the club and is stepping down anytime. Even club president, Keni Mubaiwa no longer has much power as Marechera and Chikwariro now call the shots,” said the source.
“Chihoro was not fired because Mutasa said he wanted his own people. It’s because the two (Marechera and Chikwariro) want to put their moles in the technical department. Fitness trainer Tendai Chaipa has already been suspended for answering back in a meeting which is deemed to be disrespectful and could be fired soon. The next target is assistant coach Biggie Zuze so that Mutasa will be left exposed without his trusted backroom staff.”
The source also said that the Denver Mukamba issue also widened the fissures within the executive as Marechera and Chikwariro want to impose Mukamba on the coach.
“When Denver renewed his contract last year he was paid his signing-on-fee while other players didn’t receive their monies and that’s the reason why Tichaona Chipunza refused to renew his contract.
“The coaches also questioned the wisdom of the executive of giving Denver a two-year deal when they knew about his wild behaviour and also that the agreement should have had a clause of breach of contract which would have also cushioned the club in the event of a labour dispute.”
Meanwhile, Dynamos’ preparations for the 2018 season comes under scrutiny in two weeks when they face CAPS United in the ZNA charity shield in two weeks time.
