The transfer madness of Deadline Day kicked off with a bang, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joining Arsenal.

The much-publicised transfer was the biggest deal of the day, with Olivier Giroud joining Chelsea and Michy Batshuayi moving to Borussia Dortmund on loan.

Here is a round-up of the deals completed yesterday.

English Premier League
Borussia Dortmund sold Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal for for £56m. The club announced that the 28-year-old – the 2015 African Footballer of the Year – had joined on “a long-term contract”.

Olivier Giroud completed his £18million move to Chelsea from Arsenal. The French player signed an 18-month deal.

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi moved to Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season.

Tottenham confirmed the signing of £25million Brazil international Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester City centre-back Eliaquim Mangala joined Everton on loan for the rest of the season.

Newcastle United completed the signing of Islam Slimani from Leicester City on loan until the end of the season.

West Ham confirmed the signing of striker Jordan Hugill from Championship side Preston North End.

Andre Ayew returned to Swansea City in a club-record deal from West Ham. The Swans paid a reported £18 million for Ayew’s services just 18 months after the Ghana international departed the club to sign with the Hammers.

Stoke City completed the signing of midfielder Badou Ndiaye from Galatasaray for a fee of €16 million.

Sunderland signed Cardiff goalkeeper Lee Camp on loan until the end of the season.

Crystal Palace signed striker Alexander Sørloth from FC Midtjylland on a four-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Slovakia international goalkeeper Martin Dubravka joined Newcastle United on loan from Sparta Prague until the end of the season.
