Cape Town City pin hopes on Matthew Rusike

Cape Town City are hopeful that their new signing, Matthew Rusike will be able to be the answer to their goalscoring problems.

The Zimbabwean striker joined the Cape Town-based side on the last day of the January transfer window as a free agent. He replaced Nigerian striker Victor Obinna who left the club after a short stint in the ABSA Premiership.

City’s assistant coach, Vasili Manousakis told the media after the game on Friday that they are confident Rusike will be able to be their Alexis Sanchez or Sergio Aguero.

“He (Victor Obinna ) is unfortunately gone back home but let’s hope Matty (Rusike) is our Sanchez or our Aguero that is what we are hoping for,” said Manousakis.

The former Kaizer Chiefs player is yet to make his Cape Town City debut since returning to South Africa.
