SAFA confirms PSL’s appeal against DRC ruling in Ndoro saga

South African Football Association (SAFA) has confirmed that it’s received the Premier Soccer League’s appeal against last week’s decision by the Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) to give Ajax Cape Town striker Tendai Ndoro the green light to play.

The PSL wants the ruling to be overturned by an arbitrator.

Ndoro contravened a FIFA rule which states that a player can join three clubs in one season, but can only play for two teams.

The 32-year old striker featured for Orlando Pirates in August before moving to Al Faisaly in Saudi Arabia prior to joining the Urban Warriors last month.

According to IOL, a South African news website, SAFA’s head of legal, Tebogo Motlanthe said they need to inform Ajax Cape Town first before setting the date for arbitration.

“We need to inform Ajax in writing and then set a date for arbitration in the coming weeks. That is where things stand at the moment,” Motlanthe said.

The PSL is pursuing this matter confidently after receiving a letter from world football governing body FIFA about the Ndoro case.
