Mashingaidze approaches SRC

Former ZIFA CEO Jonathan Mashingaidze has written to the Sports and Recreation Commission board chairman, Edward Siwela appealing to him to intervene in in the ongoing purges by ZIFA.

Mashingaidze was banned from all football activities after ZIFA accused him of defrauding the association of money amounting to $744 000 during his tenure as CEO.

The former football administrator says he was not accorded the opportunity to be heard before a constituted disciplinary committee and only learnt of the development through the media.

He also claims his ban is in violation of the ZIFA Constitution and FIFA Statutes, which requires one to be given an opportunity to appeal.

Mashingaidze cited former PSL Chairman, Peter Dube, Ndumiso Gumede, Lewis Uriri, Samukeliso Silangane and Hope Chizuzu as some of the victims of the Philip Chiyangwa-led administration.

Meanwhile, he has described the dismissals as illegal and a bid to silence individuals who would have exposed the corruption which is currently being investigated by relevant offices.
