Carelse-Juul: I will not contest ZIFA presidential elections

South Africa-based businessman Trevor Carelse-Juul has exclusively told the Herald that he WILL NOT stand elections to be the president of the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) later this year.

Juul who has lost two previous elections to Cuthbert Dube and incumbent Philip Chiyangwa categorically stated that be shall not stand for another election citing an uneven playing field.

“I have been asked by many in football, ‘what do I think about the present state of the game in Zimbabwe and will I stand for elections?’

“Let me make it clear at this moment, I do not intend participating in Zifa elections.” Juul said.

In a wide-ranging interview, Juul admitted while he is still passionate about the Zimbabwean game the current leadership must tackle issues if development which is one of the most critical part of the game.

Juul also to a swipe at the leadership at ZIFA for not adhering to the constitution while condemning the current purges and division at the football mother body.
