S.A based Zim players round-up

Willard Katsande assisted two goals when Kaizer Chiefs beat Golden Arrows 3-0 in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 on Sunday.

The 32-year old striker’s cross was converted by Ryann Moon in the 53rd minute before he set-up Bernard Parker who doubled the advantage in the 81st minutes. Team-mate Teenage Hadebe also started for Chiefs and played the whole ninety minutes.

Arrows’ Knox Mutizwa and Kudakwashe Mahachi were in the first XI while Thomas Chideu was an unused substitute.

Mutizwa had a great chance in the last minutes of the game, but he failed to score from point-blank range. Mahachi, however, had to go off early with an ankle injury after landing badly in the 19th minute.

Orlando Pirates midfielder Marshall Munetsi had a good game despite receiving a yellow card late in the game when his team beat Ajax Cape Town 2-0.

The 21-year old midfielder was also booked in his last league match against Maritzburg United.

On the other hand, Ajax duo of Tendai Ndoro and Gerald Takwara featured in the encounter.

Former Highlanders striker Prince Dube was on the bench when SuperSport United lost 5-4 on penalties to Bloemfontein Celtic.

Dube was recalled from a loan soon after he joined Black Leopards.

Fellow countrymen Kingston Nkhatha and Onismor Bhasera both started for United, but the former did not finish the game as he was substituted in the second period of extra time.

Bhasera took the third kick during the penalty shootout and managed to convert it.

Celtic’s Ronald Pfumbidzai played the whole game.

Meanwhile, Evans Rusike was not part of the squad that lost on Sunday. He is still nursing an injury sustained during a league match last week.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ Khama Billiat was left out of the team that won on Friday against Cape Town All Stars.
