Kaizer Chiefs have issued an injury update on Willard Katsande.

The midfielder suffered a  fractured a bone in his face during the Nedbank Cup match against Golden Arrows on Sunday. He was taken to hospital for a surgery.

According to the team’s physiotherapist Dave Milner, Katsande will be under observation this week.

“We will see how he responds to treatment during the week and take it from there,” said Miller on the club’s website.

The Soweto Giants were forced to finish the game with ten men after the former Zimbabwe international failed to continue. Chiefs had already used their three substitutes before the incident.
