Update on Tendai Ndoro saga

The Premier Soccer League (South Africa) Disciplinary Committee met last night to deliberate on the matter of Ajax Cape Town striker Tendai Ndoro and have now released a statement.

Ndoro contravened a FIFA rule which states that a player can join three clubs in one season, but can only play for two teams.

The 32-year old striker featured for Orlando Pirates in August before moving to Al Faisaly in Saudi Arabia prior to joining the Urban Warriors last month.

The Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) gave him the green light to play but the decision was opposed by the PSL.

The statement reads:

Orlando Pirates FC lodged a formal Protest against the inclusion by Ajax Cape Town FC of the player Tendai Ndoro in their line up during their Absa Premiership fixture at the Cape Town City Stadium on 31 January 2018.

Similarly, Polokwane City FC lodged a formal Protest against the inclusion by Ajax Cape Town FC of the player Tendai Ndoro in their line up during their Absa Premiership fixture at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on 04 February 2018.

After hearing legal arguments from all three parties on a preliminary point of law, the Disciplinary Committee directed the parties to file short heads of argument dealing primarily with the jurisdiction of the DC to entertain the Protests within seven days.
