ZNA shield will help assess young players, says Madinda

Highlanders coach Madinda Ndlovu has said that the weekend ZNA Charities shield fixture against Chicken Inn will provide an opportunity for him to assess the development of the youngsters in his squad.

The Chicken Inn side have a semi final tie against the youthful Bosso side high on confidence after a recent 2-1 win over Zambian side Nkana.

Ndlovu gave his vote of confidence for the youngsters in the team, after having played a goalless draw with new boys Nichrut FC.

“The first friendly game last week was designed to see how the players are combining. It was all about working on combinations. As the technical team, we are working on negatives and the positives we took from the game. Going into the game on Sunday, we are not worried about who our opponents are; we just want to rectify what we saw from that game (against Nichrut). All we are worried about is having the machine operating rather than winning anything,” Ndlovu told the Chronicle.

In the other semi final, rivals Dynamos and Caps United have been drawn against each other at Rufaro Stadium.
