Preview: ZNA Charity Shield Semi-finals

CAPS United and Dynamos renew their rivalry when they clash in the ZNA Charity Shield semi-final at National Sports Stadium while Highlanders are also in action this afternoon, playing against Chicken Inn in Bulawayo.

Dynamos’ preparations have been marred with player revolt after the executive failed to pay the players their outstanding salaries and winning bonuses from last season. The Harare Giants are likely to miss some of the senior players in their squad unless the executive does something to convince them to play.

On the other hand, the Green Machine who are the 2017 champions, have a full squad and will field some of their new signings.

Method Mwanjali, Oscar Machapa, Praise Tonha and Brian Muzondiwa are some of the new players in the team to face Dembare.

Devon Chafa who has been heavily linked with an exit at Makepekepe is also in the final 18.

In another semi-final encounter set for Barbourfields, Highlanders lock horns with Chicken Inn.

The two city rivals have met several times, but the record favours the Gamecocks.

Bosso have struggled against today’s opponents but an emphatic 4-0 win registered last year in October will give them hope to build from where they left last season in the Bulawayo Derby.

Meanwhile, the two matches will start at 3 pm.
