Injury prone Cuthbert Malajila is struggling to adapt at Sundowns but coach Pitso Mosimane insists they still need the striker.
Malajila rejoined Sundowns after a loan spell from Bidvest Wits in the summer to be Mosimane’s replacement up top for the Brazilian.
He’s made a strong start to life at Sundowns but he’s not got much support behind him a situation exacerbated by injuries.
However coach Mosimane does fancy the Zimbabwean coming in handy as the Champions League jamboree comes into action.
Mosimane told KickOff.com that his side still need Mosimane in their plans as the season progresses.
“We still need him, we are going for the long haul. You must understand it’s not only for the Champions League. It’s for those three games, those three different tournaments we play. He’ll come on those days when we play on a Friday, play again on a Tuesday or Wednesday and then you play Nedbank Cup and then you come back and play the return leg of the Champions League. That’s where you need numbers.”
