Mutasa rallies behind young players

Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa believes his young players will flex their muscles at the final of the ZNA Charities final against Highlanders at the National Sports Stadium.

The youthful Dynamos side reached the final last weekend after beating Caps United 1-0 courtesy of a 19-year-old Kudzanai Dhemere goal.

With the senior players back in the fold after boycotting training and the semi final match following a 2 week industrial action over unpaid bonuses and allowances, it remains to be seen if Mutasa will stick to the young guns.

In an interview with the Herald, Mutasa said he will have to blend the young players with the senior players.

“It obviously indicates that there is a future ahead of us. It boosts the confidence of the youngsters, it enhances competition and it also spurs our performances as a team.

“I am happy for the young boys because if you can do well against one of the giants of domestic football, then it strengthens self-belief. If only we can remain intact, we will be very competitive.

“We are very much focused on the game against Highlanders. Everyone is itching for it and we will have to see how we can blend those that played last week and some of the senior players that are coming back,” said Mutasa.

With Highlanders, Dynamos will be facing another youthful outfit who are rebuilding under the watchful eye of Madinda Ndlovu.
