Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa reckons the 2-1 ZNA Charity Shield victory over Highlanders was not easy as the Bulawayo giants launched a late onslaught in search of an equaliser that would have taken the game into penalties.

Peter Muduhwa hit the upright in added time off a cross from a set piece by captain Honest Moyo as Highlanders frantically hunted for the elusive equaliser much to the relief of Dynamos.

“It wasn’t easy, actually it’s never easy playing against such a team like Highlanders. The Battle of Zimbabwe is never easy because the teams give all their best. Highlanders really played well, but credit should go the youngsters,” said Mutasa.

This was the first ZNA Charity Shield silverware for Dynamos in the six-year existence of the tournament. The Glamour Boys surged ahead six minutes into the second half when Moyo guided the ball into his own net in an attempt to clear an effort from Tawanda Macheke after Ariel Sibanda had parried back into play a speculative shot from Dynamos captain Marshal Machazane.

Dynamos’ man of the moment Kudzanayi Dhemere who scored the solitary goal that eliminated CAPS United last week, struck again to give his side a cushioning goal after catching Highlanders defence flat-footed.
