Ibrahimovic set to leave Man Utd: Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has confirmed he expects Zlatan Ibrahimovic to quit Manchester United once his contract expires.

Ibrahimovic, 36, is out of contract at the end of this season and Mourinho has admitted he expects the striker to leave.

The Swede last played for United on Boxing Day, in a 2-2 draw at home to Burnley, when he was subbed at half-time, with an ongoing knee issue.

He was ruled out for seven months last April after suffering cruciate knee ligament damage and has not been the same player since, making just seven appearances for the Red Devils.

“For Zlatan, we all think it’s his last season at Manchester United,” said Mourinho.

“I think he’s won the right of choosing his life, his future. He’s such an amazing player and had an amazing career, that only that awful injury in the wrong moment broke a fantastic couple of seasons he could and should have with us.

“This season has been really difficult for him. He’s not injured, but does he feel totally happy, ready and convinced that he’s in conditions to help the team in this moment?”

Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic has is still exploring his options, but admitted his admiration for American side Los Angeles.
