Karuru on target in his club’s Nedbank Cup exit

Zimbabwe’s Ovidy Karuru was on target as his Amazulu side failed to overcame a sluggish start to exit the Nedbank Cup with a 3-2 defeat by Division One side Ubuntu Cape Town in the round of 16.

The Zimbabwean who starred for 90 minutes got on the score sheet on the stroke of fulltime with a header from close range as Usuthu tried to lodge a late come back.

The NFD side, Ubuntu Cape Town had raced to a surprise 3 nil lead after a sluggish defensive show by Amazulu.

Mabhuti Khanyeza was the first on the score sheet with a 76th minute goal as Amazulu piled all the pressure in the the last quarter.

Karuru, scored a beautiful header from close range in the 90th minute of the game but was a little to late as Ubuntu held on to a narrow win.
