Hardlife Zvirekwi amputated

CAPS United skipper Hardlife Zvirekwi has been amputated following a car crash on Monday morning.

A source at the club told Soccer24 that Zvirekwi is in a stable condition, but has been amputated on his left wrist after it was badly injured.

Earlier on, CAPS had released a statement on the matter, describing the situation as critical, and are waiting medical examinations to ascertain the implication of the injury on the player’s career.

He is admitted at Parirenyatwa Hospital in the capital.

Meanwhile, the statement by CAPS United reads: We Would like to sadly advise the nation, the sporting fraternity and all our valued stakeholders that our Captain, Hardlife Zvirekwi was involved in a serious accident early this morning and we thank God he survived though with sever injuries.

His condition is critical, and the extent of injuries and implication on his player career will be confirmed in due course after some medical examinations.

Hardlife Zvirekwi is currently hospitalised and receiving treatment.
