Musona, Billiat ruled out of Zimbabwe’s friendlies due to injury

Star players Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat have been ruled out of Zimbabwee’s friendlies in Zambia in a four nations tournament featuring South Africa, Angola and Zambia following injuries that leaves a gaping hole in coach Sunday Chidzambwa’s plans for the international break.

Musona was hurt earlier on January in his KV Ostende’s side defeat to Nakamba Club Brugge and will stay in Belgium for treatment while the other Zimbabwe International players report for duty to start their preparations for the games.

Musona’s attacking partner Khama Billiat is also out of the games having twisted his ankle during a match in the ABSA Premiership providing a further blow to Chidzambwa’s hopes of filling his team with a nucleus of regular players.

Chidzambwa has already lost Leicester City’s Admira Muskwe to injury as well as South African based Kuda Mahachi.

Following the withdrawal of Musona and Billiat , England based Macauley Bonne was called up to the squad.

Zimbabwe, Angola, South Africa and hosts Zambia will converge on the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola for double-header dates from March 22-25.

The Warriors will leave for the tournament either Monday or Tuesday next week with some of the foreign-based players having to fly directly to Zambia.
