We Are Playing Against The Unknown: Ndiraya

Ngezi Platinum coach Tonderai Ndiraya is not leaving anything to chance in their opening match of the season against debutants Herentals at Baobab stadium on Saturday.

Ndiraya says they have little knowledge about Herentals who are made up mainly unknown quantities save for captain Blessing Majarira who featured for the Warriors at the Cosafa Cup last year.

“We need to guard against complacency because there is a temptation to underestimate a new team coming from first division. Actually we are expecting a tough match from them, they are coming here with a lot of fight in them, but we are well prepared,” said Ndiraya.

“Playing at home in the first game of the season, obviously we would want to start with a win. We concluded our preparations last weekend, everything went well except injuries to some of our key players. But we are not crying much over that, it’s part of football.”

New signings Frank Mukarati from How Mine, Ghanaian Stephen Owusu and their best striker last season Terrence Dzvukamanja are all out of the season opener.
