Chelsea, Shield Deodorant initiative launched in Harare

Chelsea Football Club’s scouting program under a partnership deal with Shield Deodorant that will see scouts from the English side visit Zimbabwe was launched in Harare today.

Zimbabwe is part of the seven African countries that will benefit from the initiative. The other nations are South Africa, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Zambia and Nigeria.

Thirty local players aged 18-25 years old from around the country will be selected by Kalisto Pasuwa, Cosmas Zulu, Naison Muchekela and Alois Bunjura.

Chelsea scouts will then come down and assess the finalists, choosing the most outstanding player who will represent the country in Africa XI squad that will clash against Chelsea legends.

The Africa XI will also get a chance to be at the club’s Cobham Training Ground in London, UK.
