Mane lauds Mo Salah, vows to help him succeed

Liverpool’s Senegalese winger Sadio Mane heaped praise on his teammate Mohamed Salah on Monday, adding he is determined to help Salah earn more success with the Reds.

The Egyptian winger took the Premier league by storm after joining Liverpool from Roma last summer, scoring 29 league goals so far.

He scored a late winner in his side’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, equaling the record of Ivorian striker Didier Drogba for most goals scored by an African in a Premier League season (29 in 2009).

“Mo can make the difference in tight games,” Mane told Liverpool Echo newspaper on Monday.

“He’s a great player and he helps us to win games. He showed his quality. Everybody is happy to have Mo in the team,” Mane said.

Mane, who was Salah’s rival for the 2017 African player of the year award along with with Arsenal’s Gabonese striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, added that he will do his best with his teammates to help the Egyptian earn more success.
