Madinda Lauds Chokri Effect on Highlanders

Highlanders coach Madinda Ndlovu has lauded goalkeepers coach Tembo ‘Chokri’ Chuma for rejuvenating Ariel Sibanda’s game with the former Warriors goalkeeper having started the season strongly.

Sibanda made a number of crucial saves that preserved Highlanders’ 1-0 win against Nichrut at Babourfields on Sunday. The goalkeeper who had lost his number one jersey last season under Erol Akbay has kept four clean sheets this far and was only breached once against Black Rhinos.

“I want to thank Chokri (Tembo Chuma), he is doing a great job with Ariel. Of course, he is a good goalkeeper, but his game has greatly improved this year. Also, the other goalkeepers that we have here are doing well and, it’s only that Ariel with his experience has been exceptional,” said Madinda.

Chuma who hails from the same rural area of Binga with Madinda was also credited with bringing the best out of Munyaradzi Diya during Kelvin Kaindu’s tenure before improving Young Warriors goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu at Triangle.

Chokri also polished the skills of Donovan Bernard at How Mine with the goalkeeper understudying Tatenda Mukuruva at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon in 2017.
