ZIFA statement on Mighty Warriors situation

The Zimbabwe Football Association has issued a statement on the Mighty Warriors situation.

The football body said the ladies have left the ZIFA Village after a two-day sit-in, demanding their dues from last year. The money will be deposited into their respective accounts.

ZIFA had failed to pay the allowances and on Monday they offered $5 to each player after reaching the second round of the AWCON Qualifiers.

Here is the statement by ZIFA:

The Zimbabwe Football Association would like to advise the concerned public that senior women team players and officials have dispersed following the amicable resolution of the allowances impasse.

ZIFA undertakes to honour its contractual obligation by depositing all players and officials’ dues into their respective accounts.

We are aware of our responsibilities towards the welfare of all national teams, both male and female, and at no point shall we ever deviate from our mandate.

To the nation, let us all join hands and develop our football.

Meanwhile, Kwese TV has pledged to take over the sponsorship of the Mighty Warriors’ participation in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
