Ndiraya Hits Back At Takaringofa

Tonderayi Ndiraya has hit back at Mutare City coach Joseph Takaringofa for claiming that Ngezi Platinum won with the aide of the referee.

Ngezi Platinum beat determined Mutare City 2-1 at the Baobab with Xolisani Moyo heading in a later winner from a set piece which was hotly disputed by City claiming that their goalkeeper Tafadzwa Dube was pushed in the process.

Takaringofa charged that referee Pedzisayi Chadya aided Ngezi Platinum to win the game with his calls including the alleged infringement on Dube which resulted in the goal.

“We as coaches, we must just do our job, which is to coach and leave the referees do theirs. We can’t be able to do both because the referees are always closer to action than us,”said Ndiraya.

” It should also not be a given that each time a team loses , you have to find fault with the referee. There were some calls which went against us which we thought were supposed to go our way but we didn’t complain. They came here wanting to delay and defend and it backfired for them,”added Ndiraya.

With the win, Ngezi Platinum regained their position on top of the log standings taking advantage of FC Platinum’s shock 2-0 defeat to inconsistent Bulawayo Chiefs.
