Chawapiwa wants to emulate his hero, Peter Ndlovu

Baroka FC winger Talent Chawapiwa has expressed his desire to play in Europe like his hero Peter Ndlovu.

Ndlovu who is Zimbabwe’s all-time top scorer with 38 goals, was the first African player to feature in the English Premier League in 1992/93. He played for Coventry City, before going onto play for Birmingham City and Sheffield United.

The former Warriors captain is now working as a team manager at Mamelodi Sundowns.

In an interview with KickOff.com, a South African football website, Chawapiwa said he wishes to get more advice from Ndlovu.

“My hero is Peter Ndlovu. He is a legend. He was the first black African to play in the English Premiership, and he has done great things for the country,” said Chawapiwa.

“I met him when we played against Sundowns.

“We shook hands, and he said he is happy with the progress I am making.

“But I wish to get more advice from him as I progress in my career because I want to go overseas one day, even it means playing one season. I’d just like to get the experience there.”
