Zimbabwean players abroad, weekend round-up

Several Zimbabweans were making the headlines around Europe this weekend. We round up all the action!

Macauley Bonne (Leyton Orient, England)
Macauley Bonne ended his 2017/18 National league in style capping off the fine season with a goal as his Leyton Orient side beat Gateshead 3-1 away. Bonne opened the scoring in the match ending the season on 22 league the 3rd highest on the League’s golden boot.

Tendayi Darikwa (Nottingham Forest, England)
Nottingham Forest could only manage a 0-0 draw with Bristol City in the Championship. Darikwa featured from the start to the end.

Kundai Benyu (Oldham Athletic, Athletic)
In League One, Benyu made a second successive appearance after a lengthy lay off due to fitness issues. The player managed to play full throttle earning himself a yellow card in his side’s goalless draw with Doncaster Rovers. The point moved them just a point away from the relegation zone with still 3 more games to play.

Nyasha Mushekwi (Dalian Yifang, China)
Nyasha Mushekwi got another starting berth as new coach Bernd Schuster appears to have more faith on the Zimbabwean striker. Mushekwi played full minutes but his team lost 1-0 to Shanghai Shenhua. They remain rooted at the bottom of the standings after eight matches played so far.

Tinotenda Kadewere (Djurgården, Sweden)
Kadewere played full 90 minutes as his side lost 1-2 at home against Hammarby.

Marvelous Nakamba (Club Brugge, Belgium)

Nakamba also played the full match in his team 1-1 draw against Genk. The valuable point stretched their lead at the top of the Championship to five points with four matches left to play.
