We Had To Break The Ice: Antipas

Chicken Inn coach Joey Antipas says it was high time that they stop Caps United dominance’s over them after winning 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium on Tuesday.

Veteran striker Obadiah Tarumbwa scored the solitary goal in the first half.

“We had to win this match because Caps United had dominated us in Harare for a long time,” said Antipas.

“We fought hard and the boys, especially the goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze, were resolute. It was a sweet victory for us considering that we had been drawing in the previous matches.

“First half they dominated us in the midfield, but in the second half we put in an extra midfielder, and they resorted to long balls which we were able to deal with. We hope that we are going to produce this fighting spirit again in our next match.”

The Gamecocks moved to the fourth position after the victory while Caps dropped two places to 6th.
