Mapeza not impressed despite victory

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza was not impressed by his team’s performance despite beating Herentals in a match played in Harare yesterday.

Pure Platinum Play came from behind, and register a 2-1 victory with substitute Gift Mbweti scoring a late winner.

The Students had gone into the lead after 28 minutes through Juan Mutudza, but the visitors levelled matters on the stroke of half-time through Never Tigere.

“It was a good game, but winning when you haven’t played to the best of your abilities is a mark of quality,” said Mapeza.

“The boys did well to win the game, and their performance confirms there is a need for just minor changes and nothing major.

“l am happy with Never (Tigere)’s performance, but there’s still room for improvement not only for him but the boys as a team.

“Because at the end of the day it is not the number of goals scored that matters. It’s about the overall contribution.”

FC Platinum remain in the second position with 25 points, one behind log leaders Ngezi Platinum.
