Tunisian club ordered to pay Rusike

FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber has reportedly ordered Club Africain of Tunisia to pay Matthew Rusike his outstanding salaries and bonuses.

The Zimbabwean international signed a two-year contract in January 2017 but terminated the deal in November after the Tunisian side failed to pay his salaries on time.

Rusike then approached FIFA through his representatives, Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ), and the Dispute Resolution Chamber ruled in favour of the forward.

According to The Herald, FIFA gave Club Africain 30 days to pay the outstanding dues.

However, FUZ president Desmond Maringwa told the newspaper that the North Africans are likely to appeal against the verdict.

“After the decision was passed, the club may appeal against the decision. They did a request for the grounds of the decision on the 9th of May, and we await the grounds from FIFA,” said Maringwa.

Rusike who is now back in South Africa at Cape Town City made ten appearances, scoring five goals and assisted four during his time in Tunisia.
