Zim players miss out on nominees for ABSA Premiership Awards

Zimbabwean players based in South Africa failed to make it into the list of nominees for the 2017/18 ABSA Premiership Awards.

The likes of Ronald Pfumbidzai, Evans Rusike and Willard Katsande who were consistent through out the campaign have all missed out.

Walter Musona’s goal from a freekick against Kaizer Chiefs also failed to make the cut on the shortlist for Goal of the season.

Mamelodi Sundowns duo of Hlompho Kekana and Percy Tau have been nominated together with Maritzburg United midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu for the PSL Footballer of the Season award.

For the Coach of the Season, Orlando Pirates gaffer Milutin Sredjoevic will be up against Maritzburg United’s Fadlu Davids and Pitso Mosimane of Sundowns.

The PSL Awards will be held on Tuesday, May 29, from 8pm. They will be live on SuperSport 4 from 9pm.
