Fulham have been promoted to the Premier League, following a 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium.

Tom Cairney was the difference between the two sides, as the 27-year-old netted in the 23rd minute to send the Cottagers to the Premier League next season.

Villa face a third successive season in the Championship, as Steve Bruce’s side failed to break down a solid Fulham team.

Fulham will now join Wolverhampton Wanderers and Cardiff City in the top flight next season
