Warriors captain Ovidy Karuru has been ruled out of the remainder of the COSAFA Cup in South Africa because of an ankle injury.

Karuru was at the receiving end of a nasty tackle in Zimbabwe’s quarterfinal match against Botswana in which the Warriors progressed with a 3-1 victory on penalties after the game ended one all.

A member of the Warriors squad at the 2017 Tournament which Zimbabwe lifted, the 29-year-old was set to play in attacking midfield role for Chidzambwa’s team in COSAFA and AFCON qualifiers.
