Liverpool have rubbished reports Sadio Mane has agreed personal terms to join Real Madrid this summer, according to Daily Mirrior, a UK newspaper.

Mane was linked with a shock move to Madrid by France Football magazine, who claim the Senegal international was awaiting the greenlight from the new Real manager.

The French publication also said the agreement was reached before Zinedine Zidane decided to quit as head coach and Real have now shelved their pursuit of Mane until after a new manager is installed.

However, Liverpool have reportedly branded the links as ‘nonsense’, insisting there is no truth to the rumours Mane wants to join Real and has already come to terms with the La Liga giants.

Mane bagged 20 goals in 44 appearances and also laid on nine assists for his team-mates. It was the 26-year-old’s best season in England to date as he flourished alongside Roberto Firmino and Salah.
