Billiat bullish ahead of Lesotho clash

Warriors midfielder Khama Billiat is bullish ahead of the COSAFA Cup semifinal clash against Lesotho this evening.

Zimbabwe reached the round of last four following a 3-1 win on penalties over Botswana after the game had ended 1-1 at full time.

Speaking to The Herald, the 27-year-old Billiat said they will respect Lesotho but would not let them stand in their way for a possible sixth COSAFA title.

“I think the toughest game was the match against Botswana because they had been playing a few games at this tournament and we were getting to play together with the other guys for the first time,’’ said Billiat.

“But Lesotho are a good side and we need to take the chances that come away. Our coach has a great history with this tournament and the guys who were here last year did very well and we don’t want to come in and be the ones who spoil all that.”

Meanwhile, skipper Ovidy Karuru is injured and out of the tournament. Tafadzwa Kutinyu who joined camp on Sunday morning after arriving from Tanzania is likely to start in his place today.
