Chidzambwa sees improvement in Warriors team

Sunday Chidzambwa says there was an improvement in his team’s performance in the game against Lesotho on Wednesday.

The Warriors beat the Crocodiles 3-1 on penalty shoot-outs after the match had ended 0-0. The national side will now face Zambia in the final of the 2018 COSAFA Cup on Saturday.

“In football, you learn the hard way, and I think today we played opponents who also tried hard,” Chidzambwa said.

“I am happy with the way that we knocked the ball around in the first half because in our last few games we have had a problem of ball retention, but today we got it right.

“I must commend our opponents. Their back four was not moving, and they put a man on Khama.”

Goalkeeper George Chigova was again the hero after he saved two kicks while Khama Billiat, Jameson Mukombwe and Alec Mudimu converted their penalties. The Warriors also beat Botswana 3-1 on penalties in the quarter-finals, with Chigova saving three kicks.
