SuperSport taking long to appoint new coach: Tembo

Kaitano Tembo admits that time is running out for Supersport United to appoint a new coach.

The former Zimbabwe international held the fort after Eric Tinkler’s sudden departure in March, helping the Pretoria based side survive relegation.

According to TimesLive, a South African news website, Tembo who has been in Limpopo Province on a scouting mission at the COSAFA says he has no idea about the head coach’s position.

“I will only return on Monday (today) in Pretoria, and that’s when I would probably know what’s happening about the head coach’s position,” he said.

“The sooner we have the head coach the better because there’s a lot of preparation that every club has to go through before the start of the new season.”

Several names have been linked to the SuperSport coaching job‚ the latest one being Orlando Pirates assistant coach Rulani Mokwena.

Other names include former Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela and Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids.
