Ndiraya not happy with his charges

Ngezi Platinum coach Tonderai Ndiraya says his charges were not at their best in the 2-1 loss against Black Rhinos at National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Madamburo suffered their third straight defeat when Tafadzwa Jaravani and Lot Chiunga went on target for the home team in the second half while Keith Murera scored the consolation.

Both teams had wasted some opportunities in the first half, and Ngezi’s Ghanaian striker Steven Owusu could have sent his side in the lead early, but his effort went over in a one-on-one situation with the keeper.

Speaking after the match, Ndiraya said: “I think quite a number of our players especially the attackers were a little bit flat today, they didn’t have the hunger to get a result.

“We were pushing forward in numbers but again when we thought we had come back into the game, then we concede a silly goal like that.

“It’s a case of defenders not applying the basics of defending that led to the second goal which I am really bemoaning. I am sure everyone in the system is disappointed by the way we defended today.”

Ngezi are now six points behind log leaders FC Platinum who are on 44.
