Billiat turns down Zamalek offer to sign for Chiefs?

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly set to acquire the services of Khama Billiat.

According to reports in South Africa, Chiefs have tabled a mouth-watering offer for the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder.

The 27-year-old Zimbabwe international who will become a free agent at the end of the month turned down an offer from Egypt’s Zamalek, and the Soweto Giants have now swooped in and should announce the arrival of Billiat as their marquee signing ahead of returning back for pre-season on Monday.

Zamalek had reportedly offered a salary around $450 000 per year which could have made him one of the highest paid player in Africa.

The player’s agent Mike Ngobeni confirmed a decision will be made today, but he also revealed that Billiat favours a move to Europe rather than stay in Africa.

Romanian club Steaua Bucuresti is the latest European club to be linked with the outgoing Sundowns forward.
