Washington Arubi has completed his switch to ABSA Premiership side SuperSport United, according to Soccer Laduma.
Arubi joins the Pretoria-based club on a free transfer, and he attended yesterday’s training. His contract with National First Division team Stellenbosch will expire at the end of this week.
The 32-year-old’s agent, John Wilson, confirmed the move to the South African football website.
“Yes, the deal is done, he started with SuperSport yesterday,” said Wilson.
“Washington has worked really hard to get himself back into the PSL, and this wouldn’t have happened without Steve Barker keeping faith in him at Stellenbosch.
“He is grateful for this opportunity and is excited for the challenge at SuperSport.”
Arubi will play alongside fellow Zimbabweans Evans Rusike, Onismor Bhasera and Prince Dube while Kaitano Tembo will be part of the technical team.
