Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly intensified their bid to sign Baroka FC winger Talent Chawapiwa.
The Zimbabwe international is linked with a move away from the Limpopo-based club.
Chawapiwa has two years left on his contract with Baroka. According to Isolezwe, a South African Zulu newspaper, the player has a buying clause of R3.5 million.
“Both teams are interested in signing the player, but it looks like Chiefs are favourites,” an unnamed source told the publication.
“Last season, Chawapiwa said he would like to follow in Knowledge Musona’s footsteps playing for Chiefs.”
Meanwhile, Baroka CEO Morgan Mammila recently dismissed reports suggesting the forward was on the verge of signing for Amakhosi. Mammila revealed that the club is yet to receive any offer for the player.
