Italian Serie A back on SuperSport

The Italian Serie A is set to return on SuperSport TV when the 2018/19 season starts.

The South African media giant reached an agreement that will see all 380 league matches broadcast on DStv’s SuperSport across all platforms and DStv packages throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

SuperSport TV CEO Gideon Khobane said: “We’ve always prided ourselves on offering viewers the best football from around the world and the return of Serie A to our screens fulfils our promise of an unrivalled football offering.”

Gaetano Miccichè, president of Serie A, was similarly enthused: “We are very happy with this agreement as it will allow the SuperSport audience to follow all 380 matches of our league. We are certain that the passionate supporters from Sub-Saharan Africa will appreciate all the stars from Serie A.”

Meanwhile, with reports suggesting that superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is on the verge of joining Serie A giants, Juventus, the league will certainly attract a bigger audience if the deal materialises.

Other exciting stars playing in Italy are Paulo Dybala, Mauro Icardi, Suso, Dries Mertens and Gonzalo Higuaín.
