World Cup: Belgium Knock out Brazil in Quarterfinal to reach semis

Brazil has been agonisingly booted out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup by a highly charged Belgium after going down 2-1 in a pulsating match.

The match regarded as a final before a final pitting two championship favourites lived up to its billing with fluidity throughout the 90 minutes. The pendulum however swung at the side of the Belgians who exhibited a more clinical attack.

Brazil started off the match on fire creating chances and could have easily gone two up in the opening 10 minutes with Tiago Silva heading on the upright and Paulinho shooting weakly in the 18 yard box.

Belgium where more assured as they notched ahead in the 13th minute from an own goal by Fernandinho who glanced a Vincent Kompany misdirected header into the back of the net.

Kevin De Bruyne scored a second in the 31st minute getting to the end of a hard fought pass from Lukaku, and scored a buzzer. Absolute beauty!

Courtois was also being kept busy in a gripping game of football with Neymar keeping up the pressure in search of goals.

The Red Devils were able to see things through for just a second-ever appearance in the semis, despite being made to hold on in the final 15 minutes following a consolation header from Renato Augusto.

Belgium has gone 24 matchea without a defeat and have set a Semi Final berth with high flying France who beat Uruguay in the first quaterfinal.
