Luis Enrique set to be appointed new Spain national team coach

Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is reportedly on the verge of being confirmed as Spain ‘s new manager.

Enrique looks set to take over from interim coach Hierro who stepped down just 25 days after his appointment following Spain’s last 16 exit.

Several media outlets are reporting that Enrique is the most preferred choice and has been recommended by Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales.

Luis Enrique is a former midfielder for Sporting Gijon, Real Madrid and Barcelona, Luis Enrique won two Liga titles, one Champions League and three King’s Cups as Barca coach between 2014 and 2017.

He also coached Celta Vigo and Barca’s reserve team and has spent the past year on sabbatical since leaving the Nou Camp in May 2017
